Aww why is the T-Rex not real??!! - Florida Day 13

Updated: Nov 16, 2022

Our last full day here…very sad for us…would be a day of lasts…our last Disney Park, our last photo pass pics, Grayson’s last tantrum (ha, yeah we’ll see about that). Good news, Alaska woke up with a beaming smile and ready to take on the world…you had us worried little Loo, but glad to see a rest day with Nanny and Bampy helped.

Finally took a chill day… easy morning and a lazy park day. Last nights Popeyes chicken and chips for breakfast…still so good, and up dressed to leave at 9am. What the hell is that bright thing in the sky? Haven’t seen that for a few days…it was boiling…taking this opportunity, Jordan dressed a little bit provocatively, ya know, to try and seduce the main man Mickey (he’s wealthy, with a large estate I guess). Either that or she was trying to test out Disneys rumoured policy of giving out free t-shirts to women who dared to show some cleavage…Win/win. Booked in for Animal Kingdom, but first a trip to target. Decent shop, kinda like an upper class Walmart…thinking Morrisons compared to Asda. Can’t buy too much, no room in the cases following last nights trial run.

On to Dunkin’ for a quick coffee and donuts pre-park…half dozen…’what do we get in the half dozen’…’umm 6 donuts’…yep thanks love, I kinda guessed that, but what types…fuck it…chose the wrong one for Jordan…balls, she’ll kill me…’can I exchange one of these donuts please?’…’hell no, you can’t give them back, here’s another one’…ace, free donut…pixie dust outside of Disney (take that Deb). Dunkin Photoshoot and away we go.

Animal Kingdom by 11am…car park is rammed already…manage to get a decent space, but no idea how I’ll find it again…don’t worry, I have the special car alarm button…Grayson bloody loves using that to find the car. Jordan hates it, which I think spurs Grayson on…but hey, it’s our last day of doing that too…back to having to remember where I parked my car without the use of sound soon.

Few more pics in front of Animal Kingdom and in we go. What’s everyone looking at? Oh a bloody camouflage stilt walker, where the hell did she come from…kids shit themselves (I was slightly terrified myself, but I’m too masculine to show fear). Grayson would not go near her, but Alaska stood there waving like crazy at her (still wouldn’t pose for a pic mind)….both kids made sure to give a wide birth as they passed…suspicious buggers…guess they get that from me.

Discovery Island…browse around the shops and some Polar Bear and Artic Fox puppets are causing havoc in the main area…kids are going mental for them (clearly fearing a mauling by the dangerous wild animals on the loose)…sure I saw one kid with a dart gun (I assume for the puppeteers sake) ready to take the polar bear down…bloody Americans and their guns!!

Grayson had a great time meeting them though and stroking all the animals…they’re fake mind buddy, but glad you’re having a great time ❤️.

Another few pics and by now Jordan keen to not face the embarrassment of yesterday is quick to profess that Paige isn’t our daughter (before anyone else decided to twist the knife)…the photographer was a little confused…I clearly don’t look old enough to be her dad.

Pandora then…been keen to grab Alaska a cute pair of ears (she doesn’t ask for much)…my god she’s cute with them on, fits right into the Na’vi…especially when she had Graysons Na’vi dagger in hand…cute little demon.

Alaska soon got fed up of wearing her new fashion statement, so they went to the next cutest one of us…me!!! I was loving life and throwing all sorts of poses in Pandora before Grayson ruined my fun and wanted in…yeah buddy, you can rock the ears and dagger combo too…’these ears mean I’m the boss, so you have to listen to me!!’…ahhh that’s what we must be missing, maybe he’ll listen to us now we have a set of Avatar Ears…ha, nope.

Rafikis Planet watch…gentle train journey behind the paddocks and enclosures to arrive at not very much…little petting zoo that the kids loved (although Jordan did get told off continually for letting a goat eat her top), and a drawing class for us all. We drew Flash the Sloth from Zootopia…bit of a shit class, Alaska and Grayson clearly didn’t get the assignment as they churned our a bunch of scribbles (to be fair though it wasn’t far off Paige’s effort). It’s cool guys, they’ll go on the fridge when we get home anyways…maybe on the back though.

Back to civilisation and the heavens opened…fuck sake, that sun didn’t last long, where the hell are the ponchos? Oh yeah, we left them at home after being lulled into a false sense of security by the bloody sporadic weather. Peg it to shelter, and grab a quick bite to eat…chicken dumplings and fries while we wait out the rain. Nice little game of spot the animal on the tree of life (I’m sure Jordan was making half of them up mind), and then on our way.

Little dance around Discovery Island with my Girlie and the main man (Grayson this time)…I love that they’re both having such a great time. Couple more pics in front of the Tree of Life and Animal Kingdom entrance (we really get our moneys worth) and a quick stop at the hotel before heading out for food tonight (one of our few restaurant meals).

Obviously majorly late (mainly due to a combination of re-dressing the kids, traffic, and our inherent need to prove Deb and Chris right that we’d be late), but we managed to get squeezed into our reservation after a mad rush through Disney Springs (we were bloody knackered).

T-Rex for this evening, the kids would surely enjoy? Well…Gray was in a mood already and not playing ball (mainly due to finding out that there was not a real T-Rex at the restaurant…can’t believe the false advertising going on here).

Bloody hell it’s loud in here, and the waiter gives you no time to order (time is money after all)…panic ordered a beer ($8 mind…mental) and our main meals. Great to see Paige also panic ordering a drink…Slushy in a souvenir cup please…it’s for the kids (like fuck was it).

Meteor shower hits and the kids are in disbelief…what are the chances of a meteor shower hitting the exact spot that the T-Rex restaurant is in? The animals go mad, the lights go dim, Alaska was amazed, and Grayson was loving it…great atmosphere despite not being able to hear myself think. Decent food, very filling, and we depart into one last foray of Disney Springs. Nice that we ended our last full day with a meal as hectic and mental as our first full day…wouldn’t want it any other way…no free meal this time though (we’ve clearly used all our Pixie dust).

Cupcakes from Spinkles for dessert (we just love using the atm)…Grayson opted for a banana cupcake like a madman…Salted Caramel for the rest of us…delicious.

Browse around World of Disney a little more…we can’t buy anything, cases are full and overweight…ah fuck it, let’s get a Cinderella carriage and some more soft toys…anything to make the kids happy (it is their holiday after all, and it’s back to reality in a few days). Enjoy guys, spoil yourselves, that’s what we worked so hard and saved the money for ❤️

Loving their last night here, the kids (and myself) danced our way around Disney Springs…at one point we had formed a circle and Grayson was in a Street dance battle…mad crowd as Grayson finished with a head spin to Bombfunk MC’s freestyler…the crowd went mental, and he was offered a guest spot at Disney…the kids got some moves. Sorry Disney, but he’s got school Monday so we’ll have to sort it for another time.

Back to the room for the dreaded game of packing Tetris…how do we fit a shit ton of stuff into 4 cases, and get them to weigh under 23kg each? With great difficulty that’s how…finally made weight, but let’s just say, the kids Christmas presents are gonna look a little worse for wear…hell of a task, but that’s the fun of a holiday ey?

Bit of chill before bed…checkout at 11am and flight late afternoon, so get to spend a good day here tomorrow.
