End of the Line - Florida Day 7

Updated: Nov 16, 2022

Half way through the holiday already…mental how quick it’s going, but time flies when your having fun I guess.

Awoken to a knocking on the door…Paige up and ready for Animal Kingdom…I miscalculated wake up time...bollocks. Felt like the bloody Mcallisters from Home Alone…got dressed in fast forward, and managed to book our lightening lane for Flight of Passage along the way…phwew!!

Up and off to Animal Kingdom…me and Gray wearing our matching shirts…parked right up to the gates, and obviously got another photo at the at the gates.

Straight to Kilimanjaro Safari, ya know because we can’t get enough of animals..great tour, great puns, we had a roarsome time…no? Well I thought it was funny. Paige and Gray picked up the wilderness explorer passport and set about their treasure hunt for stickers.

Done and on to Pandora…bloody hell that was a beautiful place…when we were here last it was being built, which kinda ruined the mistique because, and I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, the floating rocks aren’t real 🤫…amazing place though despite it being themed around Avatar.

Flight of Passage next, such a cool ride, even if the 3d element was a bit shit, but so cool to see the immersion of it all…Na’vi river journey then…no idea what was going on, but the scenery was amazing too…everything has been themed brilliantly. Made the tough decision to cancel our Space 220 reservation for Monday, but didn’t fancy spending over $300, so opted to book in elsewhere at Sebastian’s Bistro for this evening.

Quick look around the Pandora store before lunch…awesome banshee animatronic figures that I had to talk Jordan out of getting…don’t worry though because Deb and Chris have got Gray one for Christmas, so I fully expect Jordan to get more use out of it than him.

Satu’li canteen for a bit of lunch, and some cheeseburger pods…these were so cool, and bloody delicious (and filling).

Quick Starbucks before the Lion King show...Chris’ round, but he pissed the staff off so much that they ‘forgot’ our drinks and we ended up waiting almost half hour before we decided enough was enough (polite see). Turns out that they had misplaced our cups (4 cups mind) and would get right in making our order…we’re pretty sure that they did this on purpose mind as Myself and Chris were caught giggling at the complete lack of enthusiasm that the Starbucks server had for her job. Also, while we’re on Starbuck…what the hell is the deal with getting stink eye and confusion for ordering a coffee hot instead of iced? I got asked about 4 times if I was sure that I wanted it iced and not hot….I just want a hot coffee damnit!!!

So, eventually got our coffee and joined the Festival of the lion King queue…where the hell was the rest of the party? Quick call to Deb, when Chris noticed someone in like choking, and hurriedly tried to get my attention whilst I remained oblivious…creased mind…the choking woman was quickly sorted when a cast member with an ‘end of the line’ sign ran over to her to check she was ok…myself and Chris were crying laughing, but no one else seemed to get the irony of trying to save someone carrying and end of the line sign…please tell me it’s not just sunstroke.

Things went from bad to worse when in an attempt to find our group to join the queue, I lost control of one of our 30min coffees and despite my best efforts, sent it hurtling to the floor, covering everything…sheepishly picked up the cup and quickly made my way out of line while cast members flooded in like minions to mop everything up. Absolute nightmare. Rest of family caught up with us in line and the heavens opened…not to worry though, Paige had packed an umbrella…Alaska. Alaska didn’t seem to mind though, and Paige was dry so win/win.

Finally got in to the show, which used to be a lot better BTW, and Grayson was thoroughly unimpressed until Scar came on stage…he was beaming and cheering for him…why is my son a bad guy? Gray quickly resumed the fume when scar departed the stage…don’t think he enjoyed it much 😂

Stroller pickup…bloody hell, someone’s nicked it…what the hell, this is Disney, people are supposed to be able to leave their shit laying around unattended…panic stations…someone’s nicked our stuff…oh wait, it’s right where it was left FFS, good one Paige.

Onto Asia, and the raft ride…you may remember, I don’t really like water rides as you get kinda wet, but bugger it why not…I was the only one to really get wet…but it’s all good, genius as I am had stripped most of my clothes and stored then in my hat during the ride…didn’t save my shoes mind…Gray loved it though so I was happy.

Gray where’s your magic band? It’s ok dad, I remember giving it to nanny…Nanny, where is a Grays band?…nope she didn’t have it, in fact Grayson recalls leaving it in the Lion King show…FFS…off I go, and luckily they had it…thank god!!

Deb and Chris depart and we head onto Everest a few times and then Dinosaur…bloody hell Dinosaur is a terrible ride, no wonder they’re extinct. Deb gets some pixie dust (which is a gift from the Disney cast members), gifted a $70 sweater...but Deb had no idea what Pixie dust was, and was terrified to open the bag to look what was inside incase a load of glitter came pouring out 🤣. Amazing though, they had actually gifted her this sweater because she was so polite (I know, I don’t believe it either), and guilting the cast into making them feel like they owed her something by regaining all the stories of her working through Covid…well done Deb, Paige is trying it tomorrow now. America, home of the brave, land of the the free…sweaters.

Few family pics by the tree of life, myself and Gray giving all the attitude and poses…we’re now signed up to a modelling contract…very good!!, and ‘It’s tough to be a bug’, which Alaska hated. Stroll around Pandora at night, which was completely different…well, the same with the lights off…and back to the car.

Late evening meal at Sebastian’s Bistro, meet up with Deb and Chris…and they’re both bloody drunk…bloody hell mun…and to make it worse, Chris had also donned he matching shirt, which he kept pointing out to everyone…not as cool as you think 🤔😂….seated and found our server was from Cardiff, what are the chances…Deb sees an opportunity and starts to tell him then me, jo and Deb all worked in Cardiff at some point…I could see where this was going, she was after more Pixie dust, the greedy bugger…fortunately, she was stopped to save our embarrassment that led to another free meal. I see your angle Deb 😂

Food at Sebastian’s was awesome, best meal we’ve had, and the desert was incredible…great end to the day, even if both kids were absolutely knackered.

Luckily the clocks go back tonight, as I’ve been instructed I need to be up early tomorrow for EPCOT….can’t wait.
