Now after a late night/early morning HHN session…today was a day of rest….NAAAAAHTTT!!!….door knocked at 7am, Paige was ready and raring to go, as if she hadn’t been up until 2:30 am watching SpongeBob with a wide awake Grayson…oh wait, no that was me 🤔🫣….’bloody hell Paige your early’….”This is America Dean, not a holiday”…no rest for the wicked ey?
She’s right mind, it’s the one thing we Fletchers have, utilise every minute of Florida time….fine, I guess I’ll get dressed and go for some brekkie…ah no, Alaska heard the word breakfast and sprang up out of bed with a beaming smile…guess it’s breakfast for 3 then.
It’s moving day for us, so making the most of the free breakfast facilities…some oats and a coffee for me, some cereal and a croissant for Alaska, and around about 18 boxes of cereal for Paige…ya know, for gifts back home….just so you guys are aware, your all getting cereal from Paige…hope you like Froot Loops, Apple Jacks and Lucky Charms 😂
Anyways, no more dicking around, it’s our last day in universal and me and Paige intend to milk it for all we can….back to the room, wake everyone up, cases to the car….ah, yeah 5 full cases don’t fit into the car with 5 people and stroller….fortunately though we had the 2003 world Tetris champion in Paige to sort it out….and suggest calling Chris to load some into his car instead…better plan.
Job done at last and we were running out of time, we had a 2pm cowfish reservation and a dickload of rides to get through in Universal after yesterdays antics….plan to leave Jo behind with Alaska, (ya know, since her foot was still dodgy from the day before and I weren’t about to take pity and rent another wheelchair today), whilst myself, Gray and Paige enjoyed ourselves….best of both worlds….but wait, we were about to be given a mission…like good little soldiers we all prepared for the brief…to deliver an all important pack of Yorkshire Tea to a fellow Brit destined to otherwise suffer the sad excuse for tea here….yes boss it shall be done!
On to Universal then, and a following a clandestine tea drop off, we made our way inside. Park was dead, very nice, maybe we could actually get to make up for lost time….on to transformers, Gray was sure to actually like this ride right? Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, all his favourites…what’s not to like? … well apparently everything, he was not a fan of the ride vehicle apparently, and quietly insisted we utilise the child swap facilities….yeah so when I say quietly insisted, I mean the poor bugger had a full blown tantrum and forced our hand…that’s fine kid, I get it….I used to hate dark rides when I was a kid too, and was running out of emergency exits late into my 20’s 😂.
Next onto the kids zone to give Gray a bit of fun in the park…actually found a ride he liked, a bloody woody woodpecker rollercoaster…few meet and greets with some dreamworks characters, SpongeBob and Patrick and then Homer and ‘Bark’….bloody hell this kid could spot them from across the park…the interaction with the Simpsons Characters were Awsome, and made Grays morning.
Milled around Springfield a bit more, few Flaming Moes at Moes Tavern and we were onto the hogwarts express….me and Paige had a plan…park hop and get just one last cheeky ride on Velocicoaster before we leave…did I mention it’s Awsome? Gray also had a plan, park hop and con me into buying him an overpriced toy from Jurassic World….it seemed our destinies were intertwined…very good!! (Well except the part where I get fleeced for money, but beggars can’t be choosers I guess).
Next up, reservation for cowfish on city walk…very nice meals, I got the Burgushi, which was a strange amalgamation of Sushi and a cheeseburger…bloody lovely though….very nice meal…great to see Paige pay for her meal with as much loose change and dollar bills as she could find, I genuinely had to recheck that we hadn’t accidentally stumbled into a strip club.
Meal finally paid for and Cinnabon and Voodoo Donuts for desert…I’m so putting all this weight I lost back on mun 😞
Off to our new luxury Disney resort…a resort that Jordan had insisted was famed for its incredibly small rooms…the Art of Animation resort…I couldn’t wait to live in a cupboard for a week and a half…which is what I assumed the rooms would be like judging from the build up we’d had from Jordan….spoiler alert…she was a little bit mistaken…the rooms are at least twice the size of a cupboard.
Finally at destination - Art of Animation….and check in nice and easy….off to collect our magic bands…I love the Magic Band system, it’s great…and the bonus this time round was I got to pay for the privilege…I like nothing better than paying for something that was previously free 🤣…but hey ho, I’m a sucker for a tourist trap and obviously had to pay almost $150 for me, Jo and Gray to essentially have a light up room Key 🤣…I love it though, it’s a holiday init?
Settled in room and decided to take a trip to magic kingdom….great idea to be fair…hit up Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain all as walk ons whilst all the other suckers watched the fireworks.…which was great because I anticipated getting caught in tourist trap number 2 for these rides with Genie plus…saved some money so alls good 🙂
Also managed to get some lovely family pics in front of the castle and Pirates ride ❤️❤️
Bus back to the hotel, and ever the glutton for punishment, me and Paige took a trip to Walmart to stock up on supplies, following a very precise list from Jordan…of which I got nothing on…within 5 minutes of arrival, the shop was closing which ensured I panic bought 24 cans of Mountain Dew and a Giant bag of Cheetos….can’t wait for Jordan to tell me of her disappointment at my foraging trip when she wakes up in the morning 😂
Next up, because you know, sleep is for the weak….the hunt for McCafe coffee beans, which for some reason we’ve been requested to find…2 Maccas later and they dont exist….so we sampled what they did have and had a few Frappes in what seemed to be the Disney Cast Members meet up Maccas…bloody self service ate my money, but my new BFF Antonio sorted us out.
Anyways, Im knackered, and it’s SeaWorld day tomorrow…Can’t wait 🙂
