Sundays here again…so it’s FAMILY FUN DAY!!! We’re trying to make to most of our time off together a little more and treat the kids every Sunday…todays plan was Bowling…woop woop time to channel my inner Fred Flintstone.
Up and ready to go finally (me and Jo had busy days in work in yesterday and really didn’t want to get up)…first though time to drop Grandma off to Aunty Mandy to go home for a few days…off to Glynneath maccas it is then to drop off ‘the package’…well that’s how grandma like to refer to herself; I’ve told her it’s weird, but she won’t have any of it, so we have no choice but to go along with her and respect our elder.
Jordan had been waxing lyrical about treating us to lunch at the bowling alley and so banned us from eating anything until we got there. This made telling Grayson he couldn’t have a burger from the McDonald’s we were dropping Grandma…sorry…’the package’ off at difficult, but rules are rules and that, and Grayson fully respects that…yeah right 😂.
“I wanna go see Mandy”, ah ok then come on bud…just gotta pop to toilet quickly Gray…bloody hell, if I didn’t come back to Grayson ‘Lady and the Tramp’in a quarter pounder with Aunty Mand…bloody hell mun, Jordan will be raging…‘don’t worry Dean, Grayson promised he won’t say anything…don’t splam on me Grayson’…’ok Aunty Mandy’…yep who wouldn’t trust the word of a child like Gray ey?…come on then Gray we got bowling to get to, and remember don’t splam on Aunty Mand…
‘Mam, I just had a burger from Aunty Mandy’…nice one you bloody narc, that took all of 2 seconds…thank god he doesn’t hold any of the worlds most important secrets, we’d all be doomed…sorry Mand, you should know better than to trust Grayson, I guess hes either too honest or just wants to watch the world burn…btw, has anyone else ever heard the word ‘splam’?? I kinda like it, but feel Mandy is trying to start a new trend 🤔
Come on then, off to Swansea to Tenpin Bowling…very nice of Grayson to treat us to a maniacal version of ‘The Muffin Man’ on the way…better than the ‘fuck song’ I guess…ah I miss Florida!!
We’re a little early, so Jo pops to do a little shopping around Parc Tawe while I catch up on my Duolingo…I’m learning French…go me!! I can now confidently tell people in French that I am a Horse…seriously, starter French emphasises this for some reason…this should make for exciting conversation when we get to Disney in April…hopefully I’ll learn a bit more by then…maybe I can tell them Grayson is a Guinea pig or something.
Come on the kiddos, let’s go beat mammy in bowling. Paid for us all, so we all get to bowl, which to be fair I thought would be a waste of time paying for Alaska, but she was well into it, and pretty bloody good to be fair.
We’re all in the system, and Jordan is frantically trying to get the sides down on her turn…now this seems like she’s being honourable, but I could tell she was just looking for an excuse for being beaten by the a 2 and 4 year old…it’s ok Jo, it’s only us here, no one else will know 🙄
Kids are ace at bowling!! Well they’re great with the sides up and ramp to roll the ball down, but they were knocking loads of pins over…Alaska would do a little victory dance as soon as she bowled, and an even better dance when she knocked them over…can’t wait to see what she does if she gets a strike or spare…she was loving it. Grayson though, like a bloody pro…he had his repetitive superstitious bowlers habits that he did for every turn…lining up the ramp precisely, then winding up the bowl like Ken and Ryu about to Hadoukken the ball down the lane before then finish with a jump/spin away from the ramp…EVERY BLOODY TIME!!! Hilarious, and it worked for the most part too…Damn he was taking it seriously…still didn’t manage to beat me though…don’t mean to brag, but I easily beat Jo and the kids…NO MERCY!!!
Half way through the first game and we’re all doing well, powering through the rounds..well all except for Jordan who was trailing massively to us all, including Alaska…beaten by a 2 year old, this could not stand…something needed to be done, was Jordan gonna step up her game? Nope, but she would step on the fault line every time Alaska bowled to slow her progress down…unbelievable mun…sorry Loo, someone got to lose and it ain’t gonna be Mammy…the shame mun (this may or may not have happened btw, you decide on how you’d react if your 2 year old was beating you 🙄). It’s ok though, Mammy treated us all to pizza and cheesy chips…mmmmm…which the kids demolished!!!
Game 1 - Dean 117, gray 92, jo 86, loo 76….ooo, hammering them mun, let’s see what Game 2 holds within then. Where the hell did Mammy finally find her form?!!?…she was like a bowling demon had possessed her, and now I was beginning to sweat in fear that maybe the tables had started to turn and she was gonna beat us…bloody hustler mun, lucky I didn’t make that bet I was planning with her…fed up of the new found form, and full up on cheese, the kids were getting a little fed up of chucking a giant ball at a load of pins and in between turns had started to embrace the spirit of the bowling alley and run around the arcade…just as well, maybe Jordan would finally beat them!!
Ok to end of game then, as you can all probably guess, I won both games…what else would you expect? And Jordan came in a close second, followed by the kids…Grayson was convinced he’d won mind, and didn’t really take kindly to being told otherwise…soo well done to Gray for winning the day…proud of you kid…to be fair, the kids at points had a few strikes and spares, I was well impressed!!
Come on then, let’s have a quick go at the arcade…ooo tickets for winning? Ace!!!…ooo almost 70 tickets, that’s got to be worth something cool right?…yeah you can have a pack of love hearts or a refreshers sweet…WTF?! 300 tickets for some puddly little toy, that’s mental…come on then let’s go win somemore…mammy treat…thanks Jo, £10 spent to get a cheap little toy…we had fun though and bosses the arcade…Jo apparently got to high score on a few games whilst I played the hardcore version of Flappy Bird…noyce.
Still well short of anything decent mind, but the guy at the desk was awesome and rounded the tickets up to the nearest prize, and then gave Loo Loo another prize just for the hell of it…what a guy, the kids were chuffed to bits…Disney magic…umm well Swansea Magic I guess.
Ok to treatz then…desert for lunch? Sounds like my kid of lunch!!….all hell broke loose here though, the kids clearly wound from Jordan hammering them in bowling…where the hell did she find her form mun!!!…the kids were a little mischievous with Alaska giving the evils to the family sat behind us and Grayson deciding to use our coats as a blanket across the seats because it took so long for our ice cream to arrive…I think they get the hint Gray, you’d don’t have to keep telling them they’re taking ages.
Why did we order bubblegum ice cream for the kids? And what the hell was in this…the kids were stained blue instantly…so much so that we had people asking for their autographs, when the new show was starting and where the other members of the Blue Man Group were…seriously, whatever was in this ice cream was strong…hope it comes out in the wash…Crepe for me, and a sundae on a Sunday for Jo.
Ready to go then guys, we’ve had a busy few hours…arrive home to see my Cinnabon Uk delivery has arrived and I can soon enjoy some more sugary cinnamon goodness outside of the US…hell yeah!!! Not quite yet though, I’m still on a sugar high from my Biscoff Crepe…maybe for Dinner…definitely for Dinner!!
Both kids a knackered now, and we take this time to chill and catch up on the final few episodes of ‘The Midnight Club’ before the kids wake up…they’re not fans. Great series, but a bit of a poor ending, how disappointing 🥲…so many unanswered questions. Let’s numb the pain was a Cinnabon then…bloody lovely.
Dinner and chill before bed then guys, back to School tomorrow for Gray, and back to work for me…catch you all next week, it’s Alaska Birthday Party on Sunday…can’t believe she’s 2!!!
