HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
After the events of yesterday...Pumpkin picking and carving, we had exhausted most of our energy.
It was also tattoo day for me, and work for Jordan…time to get some more done on my villain leg sleeve, and what more fitting day than Halloween for an evil villain like Hades and Oogie Boogie…ooooo, spookily dookily.
I’d promised the kids an evening of Halloween fun and Trick or Treating at their Grandparents house, but after an 8 hour shift from Carmarthens finest tattoo artist, I was in no mood to stroll the streets of Quakers Yard like a zombie ambling through purgatory.
That and the fact that I had to pick Jo up from work and time was going on, and we have had the beginnings of storm Ciaran…which has meant that Halloween 2023 has been a washout. This was further confirmed by Dad’s phone call telling us not to bother coming as it was pissing down and the decorations would be down by 7:30…either by human hands or the storm…fab.
Now to break the news to the kids, and more importantly, Anya…the biggest adult child you’ll ever meet…and that’s coming from a guy covered in cartoon and Disney tattoos.
The kids were raging, Anya was in tears, and Halloween has been quieter than anticipated…phwew. We luckily live in a hidden away area that no child dares venture down to trick or treat, and I was going nowhere near civilisation to knock on random peoples doors and demand they present us with handfuls of sweets or suffer the wrath of Alaska…you don’t want to suffer that…you’d sooner take your chances with the Ghouls and Goblins roaming about (no not Grandma and Jordan!!)…doesn’t help I’m a massive introvert that dislikes interacting with the real world…it’s a wonder I’m in the job I’m in ai!!
It’s all good though, Grayson and Alaska got to trick or treat our house over and over again…felt I was stuck in a time loop haunted by Pokémon guy and the Princess demanding endless supplies of Gummy Bears!!…We’d been fleeced for so much candy that we had to do a 7pm restock…and had again ran out by 7:15pm…just what we want, a couple of kids more hyped up than sonic on a line of cocaine.
Cheeky Maccas for tea, Pumpkins lit to warn away any baddies and Five Nights of Christmas as Grayson calls it (we normals call it’s The Nightmare Before Christmas) on TV…it turned out to be decent after all…well apart from the hyped up sugar twins…who acted like Zombies, danced in circles and made up songs about a Halloween jaunt with Mickey Mouse...these kids got some mad free styling skills...fabulous!!
